"Avatar"...One Hell of an IMAX Experience

Knowing full well that whatever James Cameron touches turns to gold, I am not surprised that "Avatar" is breaking box office records. Getting a ticket to the IMAX version of this bockbluster was harder than getting a golden ticket to Wonka's factory. Shows are sold out almost immediately. Before I get to the movie, I do feel that IMAX (NASDAQ:IMAX) could be quite the company in the future, with this particular movie cementing it as the only way to view.

"Avatar", I will say, is a very good popcorn flick with amazing special effects and great characters however not new to Cameron's films are the elements of Hollywood Liberalism, but that is to be expected. However, I must say that the film in my opinion goes too far.

SPOILER ALERT!!

The script is meant to build up support for the indigenous people who have a valuable resource conveniently called "unobtainium" in which a US corporation is trying to mine, but the natives are unwilling to relocate. Yadda yadda yadda, the savages start killing marines and the crowd goes wild, cheering them on when graphic 3D effects show the countless murders of Americans.

Great film, great propaganda!
